About

A specification tool, built by an architect.

Tinn was started by Simon Flatin because the tools available for specifying a project, to architects, engineers, and designers alike, were built for someone else: project managers, retailers, e-commerce teams. None of them respected the way the built environment actually gets planned: one space at a time, paper and pen still on the table, and a file you own long after the project closes.

Why a desktop app

The web is great for collaboration. It's a poor fit for deep work on a single specification document. Tinn runs on your computer. Your projects are .tinn files you own, like a Rhino .3dm or a Revit .rvt. You open them with no login, and you keep them long after this software is gone.

Who's behind it

Tinn is built by Bjørkå Flatin ENK, a sole proprietorship in Oslo, Norway. Simon designs and builds. There is no team yet, no investors, no growth department. That's deliberate.

Where we're going

Tinn is in early access. The roadmap is shaped by what early users tell us. If you want to influence it, request early access on the home page or write to hello@tinn.app.
