Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Tinn, a product specification and mood board tool operated by Bjørkå Flatin ENK (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Tinn provides a desktop and web-based workspace for architects, engineers, interior designers, and builders to organise product specifications, create mood boards, and share projects with clients. The service is provided on a subscription, free, or free-trial basis as described at sign-up.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Where feasible we will give at least 30 days’ notice of significant changes.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- One person per account. You may not share accounts or resell access.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Tinn.
3. Your content
You own everything you create in Tinn: projects, specifications, mood boards, and uploaded images. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the service for you.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload (product images, supplier data, client information) does not infringe third-party rights or applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Tinn to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ data or our systems.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the service in ways not supported by our API.
- Use the service to process data subject to stricter regulations (e.g. health data, payment card data) without our written consent.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.
5. Client portal and sharing
When you share a project via the client portal, you are responsible for:
Note: your project files always remain on your device. The client portal is an optional, web-based sharing feature. When you use it, a snapshot of the shared project data is routed through Tinn’s servers to generate the view. This is the only scenario in which project content leaves your machine.
- Obtaining any necessary consent from your clients to process their data through Tinn.
- Informing your clients how their data is used (direct them to our Privacy Policy).
- The accuracy and appropriateness of the specification content you share.
6. Fees and payment
Tinn may offer free and paid tiers. Pricing, billing cycles, and included features are described at sign-up and may be updated with 30 days’ notice. If you are on a paid plan:
- Fees are charged in advance for the billing period.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds.
- We reserve the right to suspend access for non-payment after reasonable notice.
All prices are exclusive of VAT. Norwegian VAT rules apply for customers in Norway. EU VAT rules apply for business customers in the EU.
7. Early-access pricing
Customers who join during the early-access period receive a 30% discount on their plan, locked for 24 months from the first paid month, subject to continuous active subscription. If you cancel, the discount is forfeited and cannot be reinstated. After 24 months, billing returns to the then-current standard rate. We reserve the right to end the early-access window at any time.
8. Intellectual property
The Tinn name, logo, interface design, and underlying code are owned by Bjørkå Flatin ENK. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.
Product images, descriptions, and specifications you import from third-party websites remain the property of their respective owners. You are responsible for compliance with their terms of use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law:
- We provide the service “as is” without warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Tinn, including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption.
- Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or NOK 1,000 for free users.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable GDPR obligations. For B2B customers, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request.
11. Termination
By you: You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
By us: We may terminate your account for violation of these terms, non-payment, or if we discontinue the service. We will give at least 30 days’ notice unless termination is for cause (e.g. security breach), in which case it may be immediate.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes shall be resolved in the ordinary courts of Norway, with Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed venue, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
Before initiating legal proceedings, please contact us at hello@tinn.app. We prefer to resolve disputes without going to court.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of Tinn after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
